1. Introduction
This policy covers cancellations and refunds for StepLinq purchases. StepLinq is sold through Paddle.com Market Ltd (paddle.com) as our Merchant of Record. Paddle issues your invoice, handles billing, and processes refunds on our behalf. The licence agreement itself is concluded between you and Luka Marušić (StepLinq) under the terms set out in our General Terms and Conditions (AGB).
2. 30-day free trial
The full StepLinq product is available as a free 30-day trial before any purchase. The trial includes the complete functionality of the Site Licence. We strongly encourage customers to evaluate the software fully during the trial period — test it with your own work instructions, on your own hardware, in your own network — so that any purchase decision is made with full knowledge of what the product does and does not do.
3. Subscriptions (monthly and annual)
Monthly and annual subscriptions to the Solo and Site plans can be cancelled at any time. A cancellation stops all future billing; your access to the software continues until the end of the current paid period, after which the subscription terminates and the software enters read-only mode. Because the 30-day free trial allows full evaluation before purchase, the current or most recently charged billing period is generally non-refundable. Goodwill exceptions may be granted at our discretion in clear hardship cases — please contact support.
4. Perpetual licences
Perpetual Solo and Site licences are one-time purchases. Because the 30-day free trial allows full evaluation before buying, perpetual purchases are considered final. As a goodwill exception, a refund may be requested within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, perpetual purchases are non-refundable. The optional maintenance subscription that accompanies a perpetual licence follows the same rules as ordinary subscriptions (§ 3).
5. EU right of withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)
For consumers within the meaning of § 13 BGB located in the European Union, a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal may apply. StepLinq is a digital product delivered immediately after payment. At checkout, Paddle obtains your express consent that performance begins immediately and acknowledges that, by giving this consent, the statutory right of withdrawal is lost once delivery begins (§ 356(5) BGB / Art. 16(m) Directive 2011/83/EU). StepLinq is primarily sold to businesses (B2B); the statutory consumer right of withdrawal generally does not apply to business customers within the meaning of § 14 BGB.
6. How to request a refund or cancel
Refunds and cancellations are handled through Paddle. The simplest route is the management link contained in your Paddle order or receipt email, which lets you cancel subscriptions and request refunds directly. Alternatively, write to StepLinq support at support@steplinq.com with your Paddle order number; we will coordinate with Paddle on your behalf.
7. Processing time
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The exact timing depends on Paddle and your payment provider (card issuer, bank, or wallet) and typically takes several business days from approval. Currency-conversion fees charged by your bank, if any, are outside our and Paddle's control.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version date is shown at the top of this page as “Last updated”. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email.
